I hate the Erlang days around here.....

It's getting ridiculous guys. Let's pick a new geeky topic and go with that.... I say home-made Multi-touch tech.

Reposting comment from a similar thread

I don't understand this. The articles about _why sometimes were a little weird [analyzing him] but there were enough people in HN interested in it and _why was one of the greatest hackers in the ruby world.

The last time there was a deluge of erlang articles, it was to scare away a new wave of newbies. In this case the erlang articles are pushing out legitimate articles and very few of the erlang articles have any real discussion going on. I don't think, the tactic of erlang article flooding was appropriate this time.

Appropriate... no. But it has made its point. One article about _why was welcome. Two... maybe. But the rest should have been comments to the first thread, not submissions.

Then maybe people who disagreed with it should have flagged submissions. The flood of erlang articles is pushing away legitimate articles

I'm voting up every article which is NOT about erlang, so there!

Today's flood of Erlang links was by request, to mitigate the flood of _why links:

Yeah I understand the reasoning behind it. But, for me personally, I would rather we didn't cover one subject spam with another.

Or if we do let's at least change the topic each time so we can all learn about something new instead of just reading love stories about Erlang every couple weeks.

Sure, I don't like it either; I was just explaining, in case you had missed the, uh, rationale behind it all.

If pg asked for it, OK.

But personally, I'm flagging the Erlang spam.

How about a truce? Can everyone just stop posting both _why articles and Erlang articles for a while?

[Edit: I'm serious!]
