You're not being downvoted because you're wrong, but because the general rule of thumb is that replies should be _more interesting_ than what is being replied too.
i find it hard to remember what non-interesting things i can write and get upvoted ("this is ai", "slop", "awfully designed site", "clickbait title", "typical microslop", "fuck microsoft", etc.) and the non-interesting stuff i am downvoted for ("that was rude").
why does this matter to people so much? i’ve been typing without much regard to capitalization case since AIM 25 years ago. this is an internet forum, it’s really not that important. if you aren’t going to engage with the substance you’re just taking swipes for no good reason.
It decreases legibility by breaking the norms of written communication. That makes it distracting and annoying to read, and makes me want to not engage with it. It’s like talking to someone face-to-face who smells because they chose to not bathe for a week. They might have something worthwhile to say, but it’s difficult to ignore the form being a strong turn-off.
if that is the case, don't engage. seems simple enough to me.
you went out of your way to read that many layers deep into a flagged comment chain, just to make a completely unrelated comment to try and dunk on me. it makes no sense.
the only reason i can think of is wanting to score some cheap karma, as the tides were already against me after i made the egregious faux pas of saying someone was being rude.
