It's special because it's not a flame: it's LEDs.

At one remove, it's all photons but I think personally this is a bit of an artifice: I don't see a role for the Greek actresses to dress up and.. put the AAA batteries in. But then, the idea of an actual combustion element being carried from Greece around the world has involved a few tricks to get it onto aircraft before now.

Story telling demands artifice.

There's no Santa Claus kids. Sorry. It's LEDs. But, it is pretty.
