It looks very interesting, but i currently not have macOS Sonoma :/ But i give it a try if macOS Sonoma is out of beta. Yesterday i tried to install Steam with wine-staging, but failed...so maybe i have more luck with Whisky.

Trust me, Game Porting Toolkit is worth it. 180 FPS in BeamNG.drive (for example):

Only a few more days and Sonoma will be pushed to everyone

I like this but I worry if it will kill the golden goose (being the Game Porting Toolkit in this case.)

Fortunately homebrew is probably not mainstream enough to catch on widely.

I'd like to see Game Porting Toolkit (GPT? haha) go mainstream with end-user support, but of course Apple (very reasonably) wants to promote and incentivize native optimization.

Whisky is on homebrew brew install --cask whisky.

Does it need Crossover?

No. You can even just install Whisky, this will tell you upon start it will not work unless running Sonoma. After updating to Sonoma whisky starts and checks for Rosetta and GPTK. For me GPTK was then pulled and you can then create a bottle. I added a Steam bottle, got the SteamSetup.exe and installed Steam. x
