Exactly. Underdog companies always try and differentiate themselves with standards and openness and talk about how friendly they are compared to the big giants, and then close themselves off once they become #1. I have personally seen this happen so many times. And it's happening right now with AMD as they're slowly overtaking Intel. And expect to see Intel scramble soon about how they're all geeks at heart and love open-source and standards.
It's the tech corporate version if "When you are stronger than me, I plead for freedom because it is according to your principles. When I am stronger than you, I take away your freedom because that is according to my principles."
