I’m actually reading these comments specifically for mentions of alternatives. I thought it was done in good taste.

I personally prefer having someone from sales read three levels deep into a relevant message thread, vs. pretty much any other tactic, so YMMV.

It's a relevant sales pitch, and I myself learned about an alternative to Heroku, which was a nice gain.

I agree with the anti-pitch premise but am surprised by the backlash as it seems pretty common in my experience.

Belters don't want Inners pitching their services...

But for real, replying "we can do that!" in reply to a comment about a product seems alright as long as it's lightly sprinkled and not constant.

Had to look it up so here it is, from the TV show, The Expanse:

"Belter is a term used to refer to persons born in the Asteroid Belt or the Moons of the outer planets. An inner usually refers to someone who originated from the Inner planets of the Sol system, but usually meaning from Earth, Luna, or Mars."

The account I responded to is "beltalowda" which is a term in the series.

It seems pretty contextual to me, FWIW: the goal is to be useful and this is useful given the very specific pain point.
