It has been irreversibly admitted this time; quite painfully confessed by Signal. The point of no return that Signal is no longer free, libre and open source software (FLOSS).

It was disqualified anyway as a privacy-based messenger due to requiring your phone number. Now it is completely disqualified as a FLOSS messenger; all thanks to using your phone number.

What a shame.


You don't need FOSS on the server for E2EE and would not be able to verify that it was anyway. This is on the server.
