Let's share our WFH setup/workstation, HN! Perhaps we will get some useful ideas from each other on how to be most effective when we see what others are doing

To upload, I designed the following steps, but feel free to share any other way:

1 - Go to https://imgbb.com

2 - Upload your picture

3 - Get the link

4 - Post the link here

Take care not to share sensitive information. Erase any personal full names, DB or server names etc from your picture

I will share my picture below, have fun!

I wrote up a whole page about my workspace.

Outstanding!

Looks great

If you just want inspo for your own build you can check out:

https://www.reddit.com/r/battlestations

I prefer r/workspaces.

No offense to those who like battlestations, but the content there is about as generic as it gets; everyone posts the same types of setups because those are what get upvoted:

- mechanical keyboards

- IKEA everything

- as many monitors as will fit in the frame of the image

- excessively ornate CPU case

- Neon RGB strip lighting that's less Cyberpunk 2077 and more late '90s Hype Williams-directed hiphop video

Don't forget fake plants, empty boxes from PC parts, and weird anime figurines.

tbh, r/workspaces seems like an uglier version of the generic things you mention.

Didn't know about this, great stuff

> If you are in a toss-up between the Air vs Pro consider that the Pro has two USB-C ports and that makes a huge difference.

But my M1 Air also has two USB-C ports? I keep checking they're there now to make sure I've not gone mad.

Just wow. So glad I read your post. Definitely food for thought

Do you work at that station for 7ish hours a day? Or are you quite mobile as it's a laptop... if you stay there the whole day - it looks miserable if so!

>Do you work at that station for 7ish hours a day?

I've been working like this since we started working remotely last march. I don't need to move anywhere- I'm always at home. The reason it's a laptop because I used to walk between two offices,so it's handy.

>if you stay there the whole day - it looks miserable if so!

You are right,it does look and is miserable:) at work I had 2 large monitors on arms,so it was much better but the rest looked the same- I don't like lots of stuff around me,so all my desks are pretty minimalistic.

I'm moving place soon,so as soon as I move in, I'll get myself a much better setup- looking at a tiny screen all day isn't great at all.

Sorry to hear it then! I hope you get your nicer setup soon :)

Yeah I feel like it wouldn’t be the most ergonomic setup

What is the purpose of each notebook?

1- Personal projects

2- Union work

3- Work work

Nice
