HN doesn't suffer from this as much it might, but it has its share. In addition, interesting stories languish unnoticed on /newest all the time, and if enough people switch to an >100 front page, articles with just 5-10 points have an even smaller chance of being noticed. pg, I'm sure you considered this problem; could you talk a bit about your thinking behind this filter?

Do you have some sort of pre-existing test for whether or not a feature is good at the time you implement it. Some way of knowing if it's good.
