Yes, right now unemployment is quite low. The unemployment rate doesn’t show you the quality of the jobs. A person working two part time minimum wage jobs (so the employers don’t pay any benefits) is probably worse off than they’d be with one full time job with a good health plan. This situation is not new to the current administration, though they’re certainly doing nothing to improve it.
One thing that will make people happy in addition to higher pay. Job openings after getting laid off better than in a down market. It takes the worry away from people. Even if it’s not the best pay, if beats being on unemployment assistance.
