Does anyone know if there’s a preferably open source alternative available that I could host on my own server?

Hm, that's weird. They should be able to go around it easy enough.

I would love to know as well if there's an alternative.

I‘m assuming Outline is blocking domains (nytimes.com comes to mind) when those publications ask to be excluded.
