Will this change AFD discussions over the commonly cited WP:NOTNEWS? Also Wikimedia has too many small wiki sister projects that are mostly being overrun with vandalism as there are not enough editors to monitor it, especially with AI bots making it trivial to make thousands of edits.
There is no pure browser anymore. The little red hen of Google funds everything, and forks like Waterfox just change a few parts of the UI but still rely on the upstream for all actual browser code. Even Mozilla was bootstrapped by AOL-Time Warner Back in the day. If you look at Ladybird they already have lots of ad companies funding it as well and will demand its enshittification if it gets popular.
I use it, and if you don't like the point of view then make your own AI encyclopedia. I'm fed up of Wikipedia, it's no longer the encyclopedia that anyone can edit since all controversial articles are BLUELOCKed to people who have to make 500 edits outside of their field of interest before they can actually contribute, Wikipedia is doing the same gate keeping that Britannica did. Wikipedia keeps telling established academics and celebrities they are not notable and if you say otherwise they shout COI. Wikipedia needs competition, and they can't keep relying on the gravy train of donations anymore.
I follow a lot of the alternate browser engines and am always looking for new ones outside of the big three. You should use your experience to get a career in the browser tech world as we are dangerously close to the Chromium only web.
I think this is cool as long as you don't use it to do your banking, and it needs to be running in a VM or on a Raspberry Pi or something. The Internet is dangerous. Something something don't write your own crypto.
Also, there's a big difference between running a handmade browser that I wrote and trusting one that some stranger wrote. I guess I'm going to have to try writing my own someday :-)
If Google really cared they would ban ICE ip addresses from using Google services and stop ICE using Google Cloud. Google is a big enough company to force the issue, otherwise they secretly condone ICE.
This is also the general threat to books and encyclopedias. Grok for all its point of view flaws still generated a full encyclopedia in two months that Wikipedia by humans took 25 years and Britannica over three centuries. The only remaining issue is when we can finally trust AI to be correct more than expert humans and be aligned with human moral consensus.
I don't care about Mozilla anymore and I was a passionate Firefox user back in 2004. The rest of the world just standardized on Chromium. The vast majority of the remaining Firefox users are just using it for ublock origin which is not a sustainable business model.
