Because otherwise independent land with no army tends to get overrun by those who do have an army. When you need one, it's too late to get one.

They don't need armies, they need allies. The problem then becomes finding an ally with a strong army but without a strong inclination to use said army to take over your micronation.

The ally needs some motivation to take on someone else's existential threats as their own. Lots of treaties and posturing may dampen would-be aggressors' motivation, but as the USA has demonstrated of late re: Ukraine vs Russia, all too often promises of military protection don't mean $#!^.

Quite frankly you should see this as an opportunity to start your own thing. More importantly I would question why weren't you promoted especially being the one of the first employees? Assuming you have done nothing to piss the founder off, you should be truly appreciated for what you have achieved whilst motivated through career progression etc.

Also bare in mind that this is a normal process for SOME companies as the more they grow the more people are hired so as to try and achieve more (this is debatable) work thus higher revenues.

Personally, I would see what you really want from life and if you are seeking credit/appreciation for your own work then

start a new business or co-found a product or join a startup that is prepared to give out equity

Yes that is correct and apologies for that. After posting the article I found that there were no changes to the way they detect VPN access. In actual fact it was some change to just the Android App which is probably DNS resolution.

I completely agree with most comments about catering for most operating systems but I also think that this acquisition was also due to Facebook "panicking" about losing ground (e.g. teens) and WhatsApp having a great number of monthly active users.

Recently there was a documentary about dating sites buying huge databases of individuals and yes none of them knew their data was for sale. Therefore the issue could be sometimes that your own data is out there without your own consent.

Partnership is always about trust....if you already have a trust issue with this person how do you plan on working with them in the future? You have 2 options:

1. Sort out your trust issues 2. Move separate ways by buying out the other guy
