Marching towards the Manifest v3 deadline with improved service worker support is probably the most important part of this release.

I find the original HN site easy enough to read, as long as I have the following Greasemonkey script active:

// ==UserScript== // @name Hacker News Readability (small width) // @description Reduces the width on Hacker News to make it easier to read // @include https://hackernews.hn/* // @include https://hackernews.hn/* // @grant none // ==/UserScript==

GM_addStyle(".default { width: 650px !important; }");

Having the width reduced makes reading much quicker, since you don't have to scan such a long line of text. I would encourage everyone to try it.

I was just wondering - has anybody worked as a "nerd" for HourlyNerd or related services? Has anyone hired one of these services to do work for them?

Wondering what the experience was like on either side?

I'm a huge fan of Dorco razors. In addition to their normal prices on their website being about 60% less than razors from Gillette and Schick. You can also usually find a 20-30% coupon code to make them even cheaper.

I love the idea of the wood whiteboard! I was just wondering if you might share have some links for where you bought the wood and the plastic film? No use trying to recreate the wheel, if you already have a winning combination :)

The adhesive foil was something I had around (though it was similar to this[0]). Wood sheets was from amazon.de[1]. For US equivalents, this foil looks similar[2]. The wood sheets I couldn't find any equivalent to, but it was declared as poplar/cottonwood. Searching for "plywood sheet" seems to get some close results. Only thing you really have to look out for is that they're light enough.

If you still have an invite I would be eternally grateful! twohanded at gmail. Thanks in advance!

I use a mobile browser (Atomic) which has great support for tabs- therefore I liked icombinator because it would by default open artcle links in a new tab.

Is there a way that you could have an option stored in a cookie that would determine whether or not to open those links in a new tab?

Very excited that you are working on this project and nice work so far!

That sounds very doable. I'll eventually have a settings page to set those kinds of options. Thanks for using it!

Was just wondering - what did you use to profile the page? Anything besides just firebug? I'm interested because we use AddThis as well, and I've noticed our site seems slow lately...

Just firebug. Activity monitor is what tipped me off. At least addthis doesn't load 100kb of 3rd party frameworks like sharethis does, though :)
