I would recommend http://projectwonderful.com if your site is entertainment/game oriented. They are super cheap to advertise through.

Anyone have a brief description of the patents that are being thrown around here. It would be nice to see how "legit" they are.

It might make an interesting little website. PatentShootout.com (take it and run with it)

I am stunned that anyone would ever use them in the first place. After going through domain registration with them, and being appalled at the amount of up-sale, I decided they aren't the company I would want to trust with anything.

I have been using dreamhost for years, and they make registration management painfully simple (and honest).

Also GoDaddy had an issue years back where they were apparently scooping up domains that people didn't finish checkout with and then selling them at a higher price.

The EFF - something that appeared that was greatly needed. Thank goodness they exist.

(Dropping $10 in their bank...)

It would be fun (and probably exists) a fake word generator that created words that were easy to spell and pronounce, but were basically meaningless.

This is pretty much exactly what Wordoid does with the bonus of telling you if the domain is available - http://wordoid.com/.

This is awesome.

The site looked like it was put together by a novice and didn't even have a reset password system.

If someone set up a bank with no banking and no ownership identify on the internet, would you send them an envelope full of cash?

If the creator of this site made off with the money, good for him. It was the perfect con.
