Most of these modern devices share a common very low quality head setup, I can't speak this exact model but in most cases you're far better off buying an older Sony or Panasonic device.

How many of those come with Bluetooth support though? Seems to be more or less the main idea behind this device.

All of them. Just with a $10 dongle that can be velcroed to it.

So none of them in reality.

I guess they could be "Concert-grade vinyl players" too with the right accessories, but that's missing the point a bit, don't you think?

Not related to donations but product wise Libreoffice just feels so clunky and Java-ish to use. I switched to OnlyOffice a year ago and other than its almost complete lack of settings it's been so much nicer to use.

And being made by Russians and used by Russian government.

Yeah I'm aware it sort of is (technically it's Latvian and there's a Russian holding company that owns that I think?) but at least it is open source and can be run locally and offline without any network connection (I have things blocked by default with LittleSnitch as well) https://discuss.privacyguides.net/t/serious-claims-made-agai.... Russian software is pretty obviously more likely than most other countries to have security / privacy concerns doesn't inherently mean that it all does, American software presents a lot of privacy concerns internationally as well (not that I am by any means calling them equivalents!).

They feel like they're scrambling for any form of relevance when in reality that ship has long since sailed.

Ah yes, came to say something similar, Python dependencies are an absolute nightmare, even with uv it feels like there's always a battle to make other peoples Python apps install.

Update: It looks like it doesn't work with the current Python version, you might have to downgrade to Python 3.13 (however even then I still get `error: unexpected argument '--torch-backend' found`)

Why does it require write access to change my Github profile and act on my behalf before I've decided if I want it to make any changes?

Hello, thanks for the feedback. I need to only read your profile but GH permissions only have read+write options for this data. I am researching workarounds. That said, I have no workflow or code that changes the profile in any way.

Interesting, that seems very short sighted on GitHub's behalf - I wonder what their reasoning is?

That is an insane amount of money for just 32GB of RAM! That's what we were paying back when it was hard to use more than 32-64GB in a desktop setting. These days with all the electron and node bloatware, containers everywhere and AI - 32GB doesn't get you far.

Handy with parakeet v2 is excellent

Managed to get 6.4tk/s with some modifications: https://github.com/PureBee/purebee/pull/1

[flagged]

That's my PR

Interesting idea, FYI M2 Max gets around 4TK/s with only around 14% CPU utilisation

Patents

Really? Feels like there's a bunch of companies

It is complex. The early patents have expired, so a bunch of companies wouldn't surprise me. I can't follow the chains, but it appears that there are not really a bunch of companies, it is one company (maybe two) that makes just the displays and sells to others.
