I can surmise your post in 2 points:

1. The stolen material by these Chinese scientists were worthless and akin to a student taking home a notebook after a lecture. 2. The real issue is here is not of the rampant theft of intellectual property by rogue Chinese scientists, but that Westerners are disgusted by the mere thought of Chinese people learning science.

I didn't need to learn your name ('Zhou') to see that you are another CCP loyalist. And honestly I am quite concerned that a visiting Chinese scientist like yourself holds sympathetic views of these intellectual theft crimes by your countrymen.....

An ad hominem attack does not improve the discussion.

Slurs like this aren't allowed here.

We've banned this account for that, as well as for doing nationalistic flamewar and ignoring our request to stop.

Mind sharing the name of the app?

Are you sure this is true? Doesn't delve for example build Go source with special flags (gcflags=all='-N -l')to generate debugging symbols. I also remember having to build Go code with those flags for Stackdriver to get the correct debugging information without any optimisations.

This shouldn't be necessary anymore.

Thanks for the reply. Would appreciate if you could expand on this a little, since when? FWITW Google Stackdriver documentation [1] still states that you have to build source with those flags for version 1.1>.

Just came back from Turkey and have to agree. The new airport is excellent and they are currently building a new metro to/from airport. I was surprised at how well run some of the government services are. Just wish more people spoke English.

I crossed Turkey years ago (back in 2005-6) from Georgia all the way to Istanbul. Even then, they had very impressive freeways crossing very difficult terrain, that must have costa fortune to build and maintain.

I think it was a typo, later in the article they mention this service had more content than Netflix, Hulu etc. I share your scepticism that two individuals could build a streaming service catering to >160m customers.

I'm curious as to why these processors make it easy to debug threading issues? Is it just due to the sheer number of cores or something? not sure why that would help either.

More cores _actually_ running simultaneously means more likely chance of encountering sporadic race conditions. Also makes it easier to measure (and thus work to improve) high thread-count scaling.

They were literally coerced to making the admission by lawmakers, if it weren't for them they'd still be "analysing data".

This guy's content is legit. Not only does he have a solid grasp of what he's talking about, he's an excellent teacher AND content creator. I went through a couple of his courses a while back including the one on CSS Grid and couldn't recommend his courses enough. I will get this course for my little brother.

I am thankful for being born white.

Being born brown, I'm thankful for my white names that get me into interviews where I can prove I'm a good developer.

lmaooo

Some of my non-white friends who haven't been blessed with forward-thinking parents such as yours, who give their children civilized names nonetheless use Western names on their resume when job seeking. So I don't think having a government 'white name' is all the beneficiary for job seeking purposes.

Same here, legally changed my name at 10 years of age knowing that a whiter name would give me a better shot in life. One of the best decisions I made.

Being that we are close to New Year's resolution, maybe you can take a bit out of your 2020 year and pay it forward to some who don't have the opportunities that you've had. Then next year, come this time, they will be thankful for you and what you've done for them. Happy Thanksgiving.

Lmao

This is probably the dumbest take on a topic I've seen on HN. TikTok is not 'for' kids anymore than YouTube. They are both 13+.
