Go traveling. Central America is cheap, beautiful, and full of other travelers (i.e. people who don't know anyone there and are therefore happy to make new friends). And if you have some work lined up before you go, you can code using hostel wifi and live like a king (a king that sleeps in a room with 6 or 7 strangers, but a king no less).

Well that would be because I didn't know about the delayed extensions :) Will update the post accordingly.

And regarding .send… d'oh! I'm actually using .deliver in my code and changed it just before pressing publish. What can I say? It was 4am and I wasn't thinking properly.

Agreed, but the markdown formatting didn't seem to work on my first test post. Still, a really cool idea. Nice job, guys!

Did you set your "site" to use Markdown? You can edit that when you create / edit a site on Postach.io.

You have to enable Markdown in your site settings. Its a checkbox near the bottom.

That's not entirely true. Cloud Foundry (the software) is an open-source platform that allows for compatibility across providers. You can see a list of compatible providers here, in addition to cloudfoundry.com: http://www.cloudfoundry.com/partners

Full disclosure: I work for AppFog, one of the providers listed.

most popular != best

Stay tuned ;)

Ah man, I've been working on a side project that does just this for the last couple weeks. Was almost ready to show it off. Good on ya, guys.

Launch it. Yours could be better for all we know.

Yep, I'm still going to. There's some difference between our ideas and I think they're both valuable for different segments. I should have a show HN within a week.

Why not collaborate?

Cool! I'd love to hear about what you were working on. trevoro [at] coherence.io

Yeah, I'll definitely get in touch soon. Cheers!

I've also been working on something that's very similar for the last few months. I'd love to chat with you also. My email is in my profile.

It's not the transition from one layout to another that is graceful. Under normal circumstances, you're not resizing your browser to use a site. What's graceful is the fact that the layout is well suited for each and every resolution you throw at it, whether you're on a full-screen desktop or a mobile phone.

The Globe developed (and released!) an incredibly neat piece of software to let them preview changes on 10+ devices simultaneously.

https://github.com/marstall/shim

You can see it in use very briefly from 1m 18s in:

http://www.boston.com/video/viral_page/?/services/player/bcp...

They should release a video of shim in action. A video explains it much better than words can. (I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak of all their new stuff a little while ago.)
