OP doesnt earn money with that one.

I found it impossible to add a European project to it.

Bottom of the page:

"Any suggestions? Sign up for an account to suggest changes or new products."

(granted: what on earth do i need an account for, that can't be done with a form or an email?)

Have you tried? I have. I just checked: my product has been "Waiting for review" since July 15, 2025.

No wonder us Europeans get laughed at when it comes to speed and execution.

was about to ask the same question :D

nothing wrong, everything right about a widespread push for alternative app stores. I mean come on!, users are fickle , and make choices in a new area based on factors that are unknown, except for one thing, bieng able to choose between almost indistinguishabe alternatives, and then promote and defend that choice with a ferocity that is mind boggling. Otherwise known as marketing 101.

what about the fact that it is a joint effort between different agencies?

Doesn't mean a thing in the grand scheme of things. Nor does having a woman, a minority, and a Canadian. Those are irrelevant. It makes some people feel good and others virtuous, but it doesn't further the mission one iota. Show me technical accomplishments, regardless of the crew composition and the agencies involved. The crew can all be women or minorities, I don't care. I'm looking for progress and accomplishments, not virtue signaling.

being european, i'm really glad of the role that ESA has in Artemis. ESA is bringing new tech to the table.

Like when i went to my github account to withdraw all copilot consents - which i never used anyway

just to be greeted with an email that welcomed me to copilot and the free plan. No button or link to disable the thing.

> No button or link to disable the thing.

The line i initially quoted:

> You may stop using Copilot at any time.

Was incomplete. It continues with what initially appears to be a non sequitur:

> You may stop using Copilot at any time. If you want to close your Microsoft Account, please see the Microsoft Services Agreement.

It may not be a non sequitur, but may well be the only way to "opt out" of Copilot.

I don't even have a microsoft account! anything microsoft i had (like the ancient hotmail address) was deleted years ago

> Copilot may include advertising

> We won't do something like this again.

it won't be an ad. It won't be a tip. It will be a suggestion! Recommendation! Opportunity!

Be like Discord, call it a “Quest”.

i had a gitea instance in a beaglebone black! Self hosting can have really low requirements (now it's a much beefier banana pi R3 router, but there are many containers running on it)

> Having an ad-supported free tier isn’t new having ads shoved in paid tiers isn't new either

And it usually doesn't result in a market crash.

> How this affects you?

> checks list ...

nope, nothing will either directly or indirectly affect me. Let it happen sooner, rather than later, and unleash the mobs at the tech bros that set the world on course to make everybody's life more miserable. We'll still be here to get the scrapped RAM and GPUs to train and infere local models thank you very much.

The current best models are already very capable of disrupting the job of millions of people. I don’t think a scenario where we just go back to pre-Claude Code exists and I’m sure the same models can be tuned for much of other white collar work at similar capability

People keep saying this but nothing of the sort has happened.

People continue to work, some proportion of the those working use LLM’s regularly.

Enough time has passed that subjective statements about the future don’t pass muster. Look at the numbers - there has been no large scale lay offs since correcting for over hiring. Has hiring slowed down? Sure. However I’d wager most firms are finding it pretty difficult to think of projects to take that will generate positive NPV. If that’s the case why would they hire? Moreover the focus has returned to cash flows - not product based growth metrics. Which again re-inforces the point about project selection.

Efficiency generated growth does not continue on forever - it’s short lived.

might be: there is too much busy work as it is, but we need people to work in order to make money in order to spend it in order to keep the circus from going under. It's the circle of life

Let me remind you that you are not paying the full price for the service and all the value of those company is out of thin air. More or less the premise of the article. *when* you will be asked the real price, we'll see if the company will prefer a human or a bot it can't pass blame to

they probably got paid 500k for sponsored content

Banks. Always banks. It is almost impossible to have a physical access token in my country.

That's curious. What do you mean by /almost/ impossible? Slightly more inconvenient / would have to visit a branch one time?

In the UK card readers are still widely supported by traditional banks. As is SMS for one time codes. People who think fintech banks are the only ones that exist might have a warped view on reality of course

i mean that i don't know of a single bank in my country that still offers physical tokens. I'm sure there is at least one and you have to go through hoops. I left my previous main bank after they retired the tokens and mandated the app use, which required biometrics.

Current main bank is not so bad, but i'm not sure if the app works without google play integrity (at least it doesn't mind developer mode / unlocked bootloader)

That sucks. The UK gets a lot of stick for being 'stuck in the past' sometimes but when I hear things like that, I'm totally OK with it. We can even do proxy banking at a Post Office ! [0]

At least we don't currently require a US tech company (Apple | Google) to give their blessing to people to have a bank account :-)

Though I'm sure your country's set up will be ours before too long...
