About me: Full-stack web developer with four years of experience. I’ve mostly worked with .NET on enterprisey applications and ERPs but I'm quite open to other environments.

Strasbourg, France, Remote / Relocation, Full-time or contracting

Stack: C#, ASP.NET MVC, Python, JS

Contact: manu@clementz.io

I'm looking to escape the world of ERPs. Though my day job is mostly Microsoft-based stuff, I've done a lot of Javascript recently (with React mostly) as well as some Python. I'm open to relaction about anywhere in Europe.

The whole thing looks very nice but the fact that the resulting sites must be deployed on their servers is a deal-breaker for me.

Also, is it Open Source? It’s interesting to me that they can sell with a explanation that’s wildly technical, while not mentioning the license…

I use bootstrap quite a lot and I have no idea what you're talking about regarding the class names. That probably wasn't a bootstrap-related problem. Overriding the styles is a bit of a PITA, but using the LESS or Sass version solves this.

I had the same full-screen thing on mobile; on the desktop it's indeed as you described.

ServiceStack is great but the recent licensing change is irritating to say the least.

You can still use the v3 version for free.

I agree that for a hobbyist the new license fees are too high. For a company those costs are a no-brainer though.

What Demis has done with ServiceStack (and now having made it his full-time job after leaving Stack Exchange) deserves remuneration in my opinion.

Awesome, now even more sites will try and force me to download their shitty app when all I want is to read a fucking article! No wonder no one uses the mobile web when every other site does stuff like that.

exactly! ..but people making those sites will eventually learn how to make a better web sites that fits into the phone. "performance" advantages of apps vs mobile sites will go away ( imho )

Yet another site with no description at all of what the app does. This trend is getting old. It's a shame because the principle is nice:

PhotoSuerte is the popular app that lets you chat with others all through the use of photos. Simply snap a picture and instantly it will be sent anonymously to someone at random located around the world. Once that person responds you can go back and forth with photos.

Though as it seems to requires logging in with a facebook account, I'll pass.

Facebook, Twitter, Vkontakte auth is required by Apple guidelines. In fact the app doesn't do anything specific. Just a random photo chat. A little bit of fun.

For some reason I find this less readable than the original syntax. I couldn't say why, as I quite like Python or Coffeescript.

I'd agree. I think the biggest thing for me is that I had to think about what was being expressed on the left hand side while the right hand side seems more explicit and straight forward. Provided that and the fact that only a handful of lines were actually saved, I don't see much advantage.

I can't say that I find it less readable... but it is only marginally better for me. I'd rather just use a decent editor which takes care of the braces for me.

I'd agree. Python developer myself and I think the missing colons might be an issue here.

> This is not an open-source project that succeeds and fails on the whims of its developers

This is on the licensing page. So not being open-source is now a strong selling point these days, apparently.
