Read tha article and came here to say just this

I pay for Google One 100GB (Annual Plan - 62 GB used) and YouTube Premium (Monthly) to ensure there is peace of mind and fewer things to manage. I moved to Tutanota for email and DropBox for storage before this. Life became fairly complicated and when I started missing few emails in Tutanota, as they went to spam, I turned back. Tried one drive also and it actually made me cry.

I am a big privacy nut but in today's world there isn't a single provider with suite of apps so well connected and evolved, as Google has. I would like to pay for Google for next 5 years, if Google allows, to ensure that my email address continues to work even if something happens to me.

Life should be simple, Google Workspace aids in that.

There were a few transactions which got completed today. Who is buying and What are they buying ?

1) I subscribed to 1-Password which allows you to create a shared vault with another family user. 1-Password family plan solves this issue.

Agree. Upvoting need for open sourcing.

I've been getting a good amount of requests for open sourcing it. It would require a few hours of work but I might take the time one of those weekends. Please feel free to send me an email (georges.duverger@gmail.com) if you'd like me to keep you updated.

* Always change your job if you are not happy in the current one for any major reason.

* Always talk to your seniors/manager for advice when you are stuck

* Move away from the habit of instant gratification as you move up

* Buying a used car is always better than buying a new one. Save on taxes and not much fear in crashing it.

* Any app with infinite scroll is made to glue you in and waste your time

Buying a used car is not always "better" than a new one. It depends on how much your time is worth, and what utility you get out of your vehicle.

For example, if you live with a family and 1 person does not NEED a car, then they can be passed the oldest car, and when it's ready to junk, you buy a brand new one where you don't have to worry about the history of the car. Rinse, repeat, you will maximize the value obtained from each vehicle and not have to worry about how previous drivers or mechanics treated it.

This biggest expenses in cars are the surprise ones where you end up shelling out for towing or emergency repair or paying extra to buy a one since you are time constrained and can't shop. But if you have a spare car, then you have the luxury of using it until it's dead, and leisurely shopping for a deal when you need another.

Why whoud you pass a car to a person who doesn't need a car?

I meant need in the sense that it's mission critical, for their work pretty much. But suppose it's for retired grandparents, or a stay at home parent then it's not needed, but it is useful.

Interesting. Saw this on Reddit few mins back.

I run something similar for India. http://www.pricetrak.in

Had to upvote. Exactly my sentiments

Why is this on hacker news ? What's the value add ?

Completely agree. Java collections and threads package well written code. Infact I ask interview questions based on API implementation
