You think you've nailed what I was thinking. This would be completely independent.

This is a really good point. It'd be the nature DNS of course. I guess my API Calls would try to encourage a TTL of a maximum to minimize the downtime. Remote region of nowhere that sets all TTLs to 10 days. Well, that sucks.

The point is, you cannot rely on TTL. TTL could be hard coded on a server to 5 minutes or to 20 days. Doesn't need to be a BFE server, it could be a Comcast DNS for all you're aware.

This is why DNS "failover" is never a good idea outside of a highly controlled (i.e., internal) environment.

Not really familiar with the startup world but do investors really want you knocking on their door like that? Seems rather spammy.

They may not like it but I have seen magic happening when someone reach out their door. Although, startups have to be little unique about their proposition so that it doesn't look spammy.

Also, it's all about building relationships based on mutual interest and fit rather than spamming.

Moreover, we will be going to start a match making service soon where we will have interest from Startup as well as from Investors.

I just accessed it from a Palo Alto Firewall and it get categorized as "Games" which many Admins would block.
