Interesting list. I geocoded the data and created an interactive searchable map of the sites - https://ramadda.org/repository/a/dotgov

OP here. There are clearly a number of DEI related awards in the list. But lots and lots of non-DEI related awards that show up solely based on a stupid text search. e.g.

CHEMISTS HAVE A GREAT UNDERSTANDING OF THE REACTIVITY OF SMALL MOLECULES IN SOLUTION IN A HOMOGENOUS ENVIRONMENT

What text search do you think surfaced that grant?

It is labeled with STATUS & JUSTICE and says:

THIS EFFORT ALSO SUPPORTS EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO DIVERSIFY THE STEM WORKFORCE THROUGH AN EXCHANGE PROGRAM BETWEEN MASSACHUSETTS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY AND MINORITY SERVING INSTITUTIONS

...

THIS RESEARCH ALSO SUPPORTS EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO DIVERSIFY THE WORKFORCE

Literally every award I have looked at contains DEI text that roughly matches the labeled categories. I don't doubt the list was generated with the help of automated tools and isn't adequately verified, but your "text search" complaints do not seem valid.

Ted Cruz recently released a database of "woke" DEI NSF awards. Exploring the data it is clear they just did a search with terms "homo" and "hetero" and "race". Some of their "woke" DEI awards include-

CRII: NETS: RUI: FUNDAMENTALS OF WIRELESS NETWORKING USING BATTERY-FREE DEVICES IN INHOMOGENEOUS ENVIRONMENTS

HETEROMOLECULAR INTERFACE DESIGN FOR BETTER MULTIFERROIC MOLECULAR SPINTRONICS

BUT ARE IMPORTANT PROBES FOR ASTRONOMY SINCE THEY CAN BE TRACED DIRECTLY BACK TO THEIR ORIGIN

Explore the data at- https://ramadda.org/repository/a/ted_cruz_woke_nsf_awards

What a clbuttic mistake.

a real cdesign proponentsists for the record

GEOMETRIC ASPECTS OF ISOPERIMETRIC AND SOBOLEV-TYPE INEQUALITIES

Suspected to be flagged for the trigger word "inequality."

Oh, they grepped for a lot of "bad words". Like bias:

OPTOGEL PROTEOMICS: UNBIASED SUBCELLULAR PROTEOMICS POWERED BY PHOTOREACTIONS IN HYDROGEL

Won't somebody think of the woke .. proteins?

From that grant's abstract: ADDITIONALLY, THE PROJECT?S LEADER, A WOMAN SCIENTIST, IS DEDICATED TO BRIDGING THE GENDER GAP IN SCIENCE THROUGH SPECIAL CAMPS AND WORKSHOPS, EMPOWERING THE NEXT GENERATION OF FEMALE SCIENTISTS.

The grant is labeled with "JUSTICE" & "GENDER" in Cruz's spreadsheet.

I use (and also develop) RAMADDA's SeeSV package- https://ramadda.org/repository/a/seesv

A Java based package for data wrangling that reads in all sorts of formats, over 300+ commands for transmogrifying the data and a number of output formats. There is an interactive interface provided by RAMADDA and a stand-alone command line release.

Hundreds of examples of data, maps, etc on RAMADDA- https://ramadda.org/repository/alias/examples

And more enshittifaction

Interesting data. I grabbed the CSV, cleaned it up and created an interactive searchable map with RAMADDA - https://ramadda.org/repository/a/fossil_locations

For me the biggest win in pages with lots of images is the img loading=lazy flag- https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Performance/Laz...

This only loads the image when it scrolls into view

Nitpick: The image is loaded when it’s near the viewport so loading is likely finished when the user reaches the image.

Thank you, this is exactly what I've been looking for and didn't know it.

IBonds are a no brainer. A great rate, no risk and few constraints. I've got them for myself, my wife, my kids and my LLC

If inflation goes to 20% it won't be a great rate.

I Bond rates are recalculated every 6 months. If inflation goes to 20%, the rate will be great. If inflation goes back down to 2%, not so much

Interesting.

Main constraint being $10k a year per person.

I’m actually really curious about this. I’m a bond-market ignoramus.

Is it capped because it’s a government subsidy to people who know that it’s a good deal? If so, wtf with the regressive tax?

Or is it capped because of some bond-math/bond-market reason that a novice would miss?

Effectively, yes. It's a subsidy to individuals of moderate means, particularly those who have spent decades maxing out their holdings.

If you think that's regressive and absurd, wait until you hear about the mortgage interest deduction, 1031 exchanges, depletion allowances, accelerated depreciation, ....

...and capital gains taxes, the carried interest loophole, the unlimited step up basis rule, private yacht tax deductions, and Texas...

Yeah, with the possible connection to the Spanish Flu epidemic this gives one pause when considering long covid and covid's neurological effects in general
