Wouldn't it be better to use blocks (219 in ASCII) as the main paint unit and use some other half-block and "hashed" characters (ASCII 220, 223, 176-178) to implement dithering?
There are multiple extensions to ASCII. "Extended ASCII" isn't a single thing, but a category of single-byte character encodings which are supersets of ASCII.

I saw 10million quoted recently, and that sounds about right. 300k is a super safe withdrawal rate for that much money and you have a pretty comfortable life at that income level most places.
I misread the title and was confused and appalled for a few seconds sorting through the word being "Oreos" instead of "Orgasms" and the meaning that word has in Urban Dictionary.
This I can agree with:
- People can "rediscover" knowledge that was already established because they don't investigate other disciplines first.
- Agent engineering can benefit from decades of studies in management, requirements engineering, operations and process research.
But the article has a big irony: the article accuses engineers of oversimplifying other disciplines and then does exactly that itself.

The author mentions David Donoho's "50 Years of Data Science" but that work presents a much more complicated concept of data science: one with data exploration, transformation, computing, visualization, modeling, etc. Even the study of data-analysis practice itself.
Look at that XKCD he posted with it.
Horn took a nuance argument and converted it into the "human slop" formula mocked in the XKCD:
complicated subject = simple thing I already understand
<new complicated thing> is really just <old familiar thing>
The cartoon is criticizing the same operation the article is doing.
Maybe that is the joke?
To escape the walled garden, I've ran a script to download all posts (JS to scroll down my feed, wait for the lazy loading, click on all "more..." links, wait for the lazy loading again, everything in a loop, then download the entire thing when there are no more posts). Then ran another script to convert those to blog posts, then posted them on my personal site.
Yeah I basically did that, just with Claude Code and Playwright. It's a fickle setup, LinkedIn keeps trying to block it so there's a bunch of manual work to re-login, Claude sometimes misses a few posts, etc.
Modern architecture is ugly, influenced by Brutalism.
And it is common for developers to present at the city council some beautiful drawings of dwellings surrounded by trees, with couples walking together holding hands and children playing.
But when the actual thing is built it ends up looking like industrial warehouses.
And the people who complain about enshitification of diverse services are the same ones complaining that residents oppose anything in their neighborhood (Nimbyism) or anywhere (Bananaism) - they fail to apply the same criteria: no one likes enshitification, even less so in their neighborhoods.
It will, but the process at this point is SSD bound rather than compute bound. On a bigger machine, Apple silicon must help but I don't have a bigger machine. I can think about this more and will make changes if that helps.
