I included specific examples from the latest Iran discussion. Flagging responses dead like that is even more thought-terminating than my poor computer geek writing style.
Please respond to those examples in context/a substantive/HN worthy way and have a discussion, not a fact free handwaving of 'they're XYZ evil foreign power's propaganda'. How do the examples I provided break Hacker News guidelines and deserve not only a downvote but to be actively flagged dead? This is a discussion site, not a popularity site. Flagged is not supposed to be used to shape the discussion, but for severe violations of HN guidelines, which the examples do not rise to. The proper response is a response.
It's not a fact-free handwaving; every last one of those comments is just steelmanning Israel's position without any evidential basis. And if you are so deeply concerned about characterizing them as 'XYZ evil foreign power's propaganda', I wonder why you see no reason to push back on claims like this:

What kind of productive discussion do you think this encourages? And given that the intelligence community broadly considers the latter a losing proposition, are we to assume that you think they are all Iranian proxies?
Someone in the Thief community was celebrating the Nightdive remaster announcement because it is apparently getting much harder with each passing year to install and run the Dark Engine games on Windows; meanwhile I've been doing this multiple times a year for about a decade with Lutris.
Israel was an apartheid state before Netenyahu became its PM. The BBC wasn't quite as euphemistic about their settler colonial project until the 90s though.
Firstly, the 'Islamic' character of Malaysia and Indonesia has never really factored into Singapore's geopolitical confrontation or collaboration within SEA. Secondly, the narrative that Israel is some kind of plucky outpost standing up to barbaric Islamic hordes at its gates is, at best, profoundly naive at this point. There isn't a meaningful correlation to be found here except through the lens of intellectual laziness and Islamophobia.
I gave up a few paragraphs in, partly because of the formatting, partly because the author seemed very impressed with themselves for being the nth person to articulate this sentiment in a particularly ostentatious way.
Incredible work and yes, it really captures a Flash vibe.
My only note would be that I'm surprised that Order from Chaos isn't featured anywhere; I feel like they are kind of a Rosetta stone for so much of what happened in the 90s/00s with black and death metal converging on each other.
