They can also do it to avoid phishing scam. Like logging on to credit card company site, I trust google to deliver the right domain for me.

I do this fairly reguarlly. I often miss type domain names, but when I do this in google they will correct me.

I do this a lot, too. I guess this is like "Just type in the AOL keyword, and boom, you're there!", except it's Google keyword. :)

Sure, but they're talking about average web users

Server side js is so 90s style idea. Extremely slow. Although I haven't tried joyents product....

To be completely honest, Server Side JS or ServerJS has been growing a huge following of interested parties doing some amazing things with JavaScript (Narwhal http://narwhaljs.org/ , ServerJS https://wiki.mozilla.org/ServerJS , NodeJS http://tinyclouds.org/node/ ). The sheer fact that you openly admit that you haven't even tried the product screams "troll" and the whole "extremely slow" without any base or founding is completely ridiculous. Maybe you should take a look at the product and movement before flaming it.

Ardit33, your information is not correct. There is nothing like H1 transfer. Every time you switch employer, you have to apply for H1 visa. This also means you can hold as many h1 visas as you can get. But you can work for only one employer at any given point of time.

You are correct in that one does not transfer the H1B, one gets a new one. However, if you already hold H1B status then you are generally not subject to the H1B cap. In those times when the cap has been reach this means that you do not need to wait until October 1st to start your new job.

"Application Type: I129, PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER" -- Yes you are right. I guess, technically is called a petition for a non immigrant worker, and while it is not a 'transfer' per se, it is not a filing of a brand new h-1b either (that is a slightly different procedure) as you have to be part of the cap.
