You do not even need a scientist to see that there is a massive degeneration and retardation going on in the US gene pool currently. Influx of foreign genes was the solution, but now dumbness itself will trigger its own growth even stronger. If you want a better gene pool for your descendants it is time to leave US now. Good Luck!
Looks very interesting! Would you like to add LDAP support, maybe in a modularized way to store rules "somewhere" and provide a mechanism for mandatory application of these rules on clients ("enforce rules from trusted storage x")?
Others could build GUIs around the storage (LDAP, SQLite, whatever) and we could share rules via a website. That would be a great help for many users! Thanks!

My thinking is to make it so that you just have a "dumb" daemon which has the concept of a process requesting the ability to connect to an IP/unix socket and sends requests over gRPC to clients that make access decisions. So there's no long-term storage of rules in the daemon (except possibly in some edge cases).
In any case I'm still writing a PoC so it's a bit early for features like that.
Meanwhile, is there a way to restrict Dockerfiles, e.g. not allowing users to be root in the container?
I had the impression that this technology was only usable for the "single user machine" use-case, as too many bad things might happen in true multi-user environments - what is quite limiting in a unix world where we are used to multi-user reality since a long time - it was disturbing to see that such a successful tec seemed to ignore that.
However, I am really happy for any updates on this issue, I did not follow Docker development too much, so punish me when I am totally wrong!
Yes, of course there are easy to use and much better programming languages for that - I just really wanted to read some "real-life" recommendations from that guy that mentioned "php" and "long-polling" in the same sentence.
[Maybe it was just a joke and I did not get it... or I did get it but did not identify it as a joke... however... I would like to see some beef...]
Uh. You do realize that Mediawiki, powering nearly all wiki systems including Wikipedia, is written in PHP. Or Facebook, they were able to go with PHP for iirc 500 M users?
PHP is in any case a better choice, performance-wise, than Python or, god forbid, Java.
Many websites don't ever get to 350M users, so it's safe to say that plain PHP will satisfy your startup for a long time. Also, PHP7 is pretty much on par with HHVM in real-world scenarios: https://kinsta.com/blog/the-definitive-php-7-final-version-h...
Check out "experimental JIT branch" of PHP. It boost performance 1.5-2 times compared to current PHP 7.1, and they didn't start optimization yet. It blows HHVM out of the water, and I can't wait to compare performance with Java and .NET.
Can't disclose much in public, but our PHP CMS hosting requirements tend to be waaaay cheaper than our Java-based CMSes. Also, deployment of PHP apps is (in my experience) faster and easier.
It does not make any sense to complain. The constructive approach that lead us to open source world domination goes like this: just build what you need. Start today, publish early, others will chime in and you will have the best status module you could dream of.
You will see ads on your command prompt from time to time and the bash completion will contain "sensible recommendations" based on your general behavior, psychological state and political orientation.
Now that everything was published they also plan to pre-install the diverse arsenal of hacking tools on every machine, as there is no reason now anymore to hide that stuff - what will make the fight for freedom much easier for everyone involved!
To support your patriotism there will now be a personal statement of all past MS CEOs showing up on startup and the national anthem playing to support your emotions.
Also from time to time a screensaver will show the sentence "Everybody adores you, because you belong to a global hacker elite using the Windows operating system in 2017! Ignore that laughter around you!"
