I see a few positions related to autonomy on your website. What kind of experience levels are you expecting? I can’t tell if those are 20+ years experience or entry-level.


We're pretty open to candidates of all experience levels, and are mainly looking for folks who bring a strong foundation with the relevant theory (math, algorithms) and software development practices, even if they're coming right out of school.

Description: Forget complex joysticks and awkward tilt-controls: we are crafting completely novel interactions that leverage Skydio’s onboard intelligence to empower a much broader, more diverse audience of drone users - from action enthusiasts to insurance claims adjusters and first responders.

Requirements: (1) You’ve developed an app that’s shipped to Google Play or Apple App store (2) High proficiency with Swift or Java (2.1) Bonus points for Python (2.2) Double bonus points for C++.

Our tech stack: - Our iOS and Android codebases are primarily written in Swift and Java respectively, using standard UI tools provided by each platform. - Both apps run our C++ mobile core, an extension of the Skydio Autonomy Engine, which centralizes logic for much of the pre-flight and in-flight experience. - We use Djinni to easily define complex APIs that bridge the C++ core with the iOS and Android codebases - and our Python-based data specification system imparts simple extensibility to hardened, type-safe C++ mini-engines.

Skydio makes intelligent flying cameras that use computer vision and deep learning to make advanced aerial videography as easy/intuitive as taking pictures with the iPhone. We’re looking for an experienced mobile app developer to own the core flight and video experience on Android.

Target profile: You've shipped an app in the Google Play Store that you can provide as a reference. Comfortability working in the Android ecosystem (Java, Android Studio, Gradle, adb) and using Linux. Experience shipping apps for multiple devices and across platforms. You know how to create tools and automate your workflow with python scripts.
