Whispering [0] is Windows compatible and has gotten a lot better on Windows despite being extremely rough around the edges at first.

If you're looking for free STT you can use Whistle across Windows/Mac/Linux and Android (iOS released soon)

Not sure why you got downvoted. I wish this was a tag or something.

People can't see up votes and down votes for other people on HN.

Why would one need to self-host TBs of content with Usenet? That makes no sense.

It's also a lot less prone to failures than debrid services, especially with old content.

Freerdp (which this project and every other similar one depends on) is 100% broken on wayland for this use case. I'm not going back to X11.

It would probably beneficial for you to distinguish an is from an ought.

The OP was descriptive, not prescriptive.

How strange, you've logged in after 30+ days just to post this comment

How strange, your account is only twice as old.

Screw Elon Musk and the horse he rode in on. There is
no way I'm going to give that character my content or
collaborate in anything he owns or has a stake in.

      Still looking for an alternative.
LOL

Unbelievable... Good job mate.

Can't wait until one day this gets into Moonlight or something like it.

Exactly what I was thinking. Wish I had the time and expertise to give adding support for this codec myself a go. Streaming Clair Obscure over my LAN via Sunshine / Moonlight is exactly my use-case and the latency could definitely be better.

"It's a hot mess" - someone who knows absolutely nothing about what they're talking about.

Typical HN comment about php.

Defenders of PHP's iterators clearly tasted only carrots.

Try Niri or PaperWM. A scrolling window manager.

They are upvoting because they hate Elon Musk. It's not that deep.

Yes. Every single transaction is open for the government to inspect. There is zero privacy in pix in relation to government surveillance.

According to Wikipedia, RDP = June 16, 1998 SSH = 1995. OpenSSH = 1999

RDP is based on Citrix ICA which builds on Citrix Multiuser released in 1991 for OS/2, and 1992 for DOS, 1993 for Windows.

The Citrix/Microsoft relationship is a bonkers story. The world didn't yet know that licensing your tech to Microsoft meant you were going to grab your ankles.
