albedo you have made a excellent summary!
When I tried it, I slept 20 minutes every 4 hours and at the end when my system had adapted, I woke up automatically after 20 minutes even before my alarm went off and full of energy as if I slept 10 hours. But after 4 hours, I was completely exhausted and I really needed my 20 minutes of sleep.
When I was in university I tried the polyphasic sleep technic for 5 weeks. Here are my findings:
- The first 14 days are really difficult because the system must adapt and causes a severe lack of sleep. During this period, I would not trust myself to drive a car.
- Do not drink coffee and alcohol because it completely destabilizes the system.
- The vivid/lucid dreams where an incredible experience.
- Not sleeping at the same hours as my girlfriend.
- Time... so much time! It is also often the reason that people fail to polyphasic sleeping. Some people don't find anything to do and fall asleep watching television.

Why only 3 days of tryout if it's not even public?
Yup, a short screencast or some screenshots would be great. Seeing as Windows isn't a supported platform (yet?), I can't try it out right now without rebooting and I could use some more convincing...
-Why using a code and not simply a URL (ex.: http://nearfeed.com/667568)? It will be less manipulation then having to copy/paste the code in a textbox.
-Why using a code and not just giving coordinates?
-Not really accurate for me, 2 km away. I know that its not on your side it has to do with my IP. To obtain the coordinates have you tried another geoip service besides Google Maps? Like maxmind database (http://www.maxmind.com)?
I created a similar project to share/track real-time location as you move, its an iPhone app that shares location and generates a url that can be opened by friends on any browser. It not just static location, but will show your real-time location, if you move, then the marker on url moves.
Check out http://shaloc.com use invite code "hackernews" to get iPhone app promo code to download. Give feedback, thanks.
You missed the point. The fact that CMD-P doesn't do what it's supposed to do was a big warning to me.
One of the best things on a Mac is that every application uses standard keyboard shortcuts. For example, CMD-, always opens preferences. I believe that anybody who doesn't follow these conventions is doing it wrong. If the application doesn't print, CMD+P shouldn't do anything in my opinion.
I agree that this is very important, since I tend to lean heavily towards keyboard-driven interaction. It's not enough of an issue to prevent me from using the editor, though.
