What is the name of the animated visualization on the front page? I thought it was static, but it is an amazing way to display such a dense and dry subject. 10/10

The visualization is a custom component that our own Mik Lysenko (of https://0fps.net fame) made. I agree it's a super useful way to visualize package data.

13899M fits the Apple pricing model better.

If I had a lot of legal text that I wanted people to scroll by then this would be a good dark pattern.

That's at least one use-case I hadn't thought of haha.

I wonder if there are any legitimate non-dark pattern use-cases.

Now I am interested in who the CPA is. Wonder if he is taking new clients? What other interests does he represent? If I was in this situation I would want to talk directly to the CPA to try and understand the situation a lot more.

No CPA is going to discuss anything at all about a client with any 3rd party unless legally compelled.

In this case, I'm pretty sure the elected auditor would count as part of the "client" unless there was some seriously shady business going on.

Yes, but does the other company pay for the retrospective? Or is the retro when we start to spend all the money that was billed?

The value these jobs create is the fabric of modern society. To quote the article, "Just shut up Mom, it's Christmas." Not saying they should be paid as much as doctors, but without these normal things that were lost during the 2020 shutdown I suspect that the protesting/looting would become more prevalent.

When we look at the issues that are behind the thin margins that restaurants operate on, i.e. rent and cost of goods, then it seems that the labor is the only variable that is under the operators control. So instead of framing the argument of whether we should have to directly pay those wages/tips the discussion needs to shift.

Why are commercial rents so high? Because vacancies are preferred over "market rate" rents. https://hackernews.hn/item?id=27939860

Not saying this is the case, but when a business shuts down the property it operated in stays in place. The rent will continue to rise to meet the financial demands of the property owner. So the next fool comes in and tries to run a business that is doomed. The young workers rents are subsidized by parents. Unless a restaurant owner is working in the trenches then they will NEVER be able to run the business effectively.

The banks get richer either way, but at a certain point there will not be any restaurants left as the societal contracts erode.

Recently I added my YT API key on a Kodi box at work and it "poisoned" all of my recommendations I see on my YT homepage. I look at it as a feature and not a bug, as it has curbed my ability to go to the home page and be entertained. Compared to the other plugins/add-ons that change the thumbnail or hide all the recommendations this seems to be a preferable alternative.

It is more steamed than baked. All of the moisture is intact which leads to a lot juicier piece of meat. I recommend the GoSun portable unit that is ~$100 to explore cooking with the sun.

Also it looks like they are searing the outside in a way by using the clear dishes over an opaque material that is directly absorbing the infrared heat.

At 700C during an Armenian summer, it is 100% properly baked, not just steamed. That's pizza oven territory ;)

How about an old barrel and some tin foil?

Yes. Find another avenue for virtue signaling that contributes on a local level. Paying for the right to be a roaming advert is what has been advertised to you, hence you are repeating the cycle.

I do wear these brands, but try to subdue any labeling. i.e. black sharpie on the nike logo.

If you’ve made software that is very useful for some people, should it be illegal to tell anybody about that, unless you’ve been specifically asked?

How about my christmas jumper with a character on it saying “make it snow”?

How about a picture of Scrooge saying “bah humbug”?
