Western platforms were losing to Chinese ones in PRC before they were blocked. When hammer came down to enforce onerous human moderation on ALL platforms in PRC, western platforms chose not to comply, because adding layer of human moderation at the time wasn't worth the cost/optics. This was a time when PRC domestic platforms had 10,000s of humans in the loop and western ones had essentially none. Why do you think Facebook and Google both had internal projects to re-enter PRC market after they scaled up human moderation in west? That's what fair competition is - facebook, google et al blocking what PRC gov wants blocked and handing over info on dissident according to who PRC says are dissidents. All expensive things PRC platforms has to do. AKA "fair" competitive enironment. Thinking western platforms should compete in PRC without following PRC laws is insipid. Fair would also be the TikTok/Oracle JV where Oracle responsible for US interests, like PRC has for Microsoft. Nevermind half the reason western platforms were blocked was because they were unmoderated platforms that helped organize extremist attacks that caused 2009 minority riots. It's one thing to block TikTok if TikTok allowed 9/11 and refused to do anything about it, it's another when they do what every other US platform does, but just better.

Yes, that would be freedom. Losing your job is a little to harsh for insulting people on the street. If you didn't do it on the job or job related then you should not lose your job. If you insult me now and I find out who you are and call your company they should not fire you for insulting me.

The "right" has a long history of FBI infiltration--klan meetings being comprised entirely of feds trying to bust each other has been a running joke for decades.
The "left" is similar, but it's not usually the the FBI these days AFAICT.
They were legitimately a group of mentally ill losers sharing edgy memes. The FBI got involved (see Josh Sutter) and began producing those well-crafted propaganda materials, including videos featuring actors wearing identical clothes to actual members. A lot of them got spooked and jumped ship. Those who stayed were literally drugged as part of "occult initiation" rituals, and, yes, some were finally convinced to carry out murders.
I've always felt like the fact that they seem to constantly be thoroughly invested in the right wing groups and let them persist, while they barely infiltrate the left and done everything they can to destroy them asap, really suggests theyre not so much infiltrating the right wingers as much as taking control because they actually support the underlying ideology....

Unfortunately people won't be bothered to check that the suicides are not cased by kiwifarms, they will just go with it and there are plenty of people to just repeat the lie until it becomes the truth.
